You will be joining an established and well-respected civil engineering contractor based in Ipswich renowned for delivering high-quality infrastructure projects. This multi-accredited contractor has a strong pipeline of bespoke and framework projects and offers excellent opportunities for career progression and professional development. Theirmitment to delivering an exceptional standard of work has positioned them as a leader within the industry, and as part of their continued growth, they are actively seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to join their team.
This is a full-time permanent position based out of their Ipswich office with hybrid and flexible working.
Your new role
As a Senior Planning Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping tender strategies and supporting efficient project delivery across a variety of civil engineering schemes. Drawing on your site experience, you will:
1. Review tender documentation thoroughly and identify the most effective methods of construction
2. Collaborate closely with tender teams to assess alternative techniques, buildability and delivery strategies
3. Support bid-writing by producing accurate programme information and construction methodology summaries
4. Review subcontractor proposals forpliance and constructability, working with the Technical Manager where needed
5. Produce programme documentation that fullyplies with scheme-specific constraints.
6. Provide expert advice on planning, engineering solutions and programme creation throughout the tender process
7. Stay up to date with industry developments, innovations and relevant legislation.
This is a role where your insight, technical judgement, and ability to challenge assumptions will directly contribute to successful project oues.
What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you will bring:
8. Experience working on civil engineering sites
9. Familiarity with planning and programming software such as Asta Powerproject or Microsoft Project (training can be provided if required)
10. A proactive mindset and the ability to provide practical, solutions-focused engineering advice
11. Strongmunication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
12. Full UK driving licence.
