You will maintain accurate systems and records, raise and monitor purchase orders, assist with stock and sales analysis, and coordinate product information across internal teams.

Job Summary:
The Merchandising Assistant will provide vital support to the Buying and Merchandising function, ensuring smooth product set-up, stock management, and supplier administration. The role involves maintaining accurate systems and records, raising and monitoring purchase orders, assisting with stock and sales analysis, and coordinating product information across internal teams. This position requires strong organisational and communication skills, with a focus on accuracy, attention to detail, and effective liaison with suppliers, colleagues, and external partners.
Main areas of responsibility:
* Assist in setting up new products and maintaining accurate product and supplier information within company systems.
* Raise purchase orders for stock, services, and product development, amending as required to reflect changes in quantities, dates, or costs.
* Track and follow up on deliveries with suppliers and internal teams, assisting in resolving any discrepancies.
* Manage buying office samples and ensure product specifications and supporting documents are completed.
* Provide product information, imagery, and launch details to the e-commerce and retail teams for new product introductions.
* Support range planning and stock management through accurate system updates and basic reporting.
* Monitor stock levels across sites, raising replenishment orders as required.
* Assist in managing replenishment, warehouse write-offs, and component dispatch to suppliers.
* Support the maintenance of accurate stock records and investigate discrepancies.
* Maintain accurate product, stock, and supplier records across all relevant systems.
* Support the production of basic stock and sales reports to guide team decision-making.
* Respond to queries from Customer Services and Finance relating to product, orders, and invoices.
* Provide general administrative support to the Supply Chain and Merchandise Manager and wider team.
* Communicate effectively with suppliers and colleagues, maintaining a professional standard at all times.
* Uphold confidentiality and work with discretion.
* Contribute to team meetings and support departmental planning.
* Carry out any other reasonable duties as required.
Experience:
* Proven experience in office administration in a similar role
* Strong analytical and numerical skills
* Proven ability to prioritise own workload to meet tight deadlines, often under considerable pressure, and to remain calm
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* Team Player; proven ability to work well in a team and to develop excellent working relationships at all levels
* IT and administrative skills (Word, Excel spreadsheets, and Outlook)
* Proactive and flexible approach; ability to use own initiative
* Discreet and able to maintain confidentiality at all times
* Smart, professional appearance
* Sense of humour and an even temperament
* Experience in database administration (preferred but not essential)
* Knowledge of retail stock systems (preferred but not essential)
Hours of work:
* 37.5 hours per week, and such other hours that are necessary for the proper fulfilment of duties or to meet unexpected or urgent demands.
* Core office hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm.
* Hybrid working (with a minimum of 3 days in the office).
