Offer description

Overview

As Bramble & Bear starts an exciting new chapter with the launch of our brand-new Hospital and Rehab Centre this autumn, we are searching for an experienced vet to join our new dedicated night team.

We are Bramble & Bear, a veterinary practice in the Staffordshire Moorlands open to transforming into a Hospital and Rehab Centre. We have built a forward-thinking practice where both pets and their owners receive exceptional care, with the aim of creating an environment where everyone can thrive and enjoy their work.

The hospital will feature two fully equipped theatres, a dedicated dental suite, and an imaging suite with DR X-ray, Doppler ultrasound, and endoscopy, enabling in-house treatment of most cases. In keeping with our Fear-Free accreditation, we will create separate cat and dog wards to ensure a calm, stress-free environment for all patients, plus an outdoor space for inpatients and the team to enjoy during recovery or downtime. Being situated on a working farm provides a peaceful atmosphere and convenient access to the farm shop and café for lunch.

Alongside the hospital, the Rehab Centre will offer advanced rehabilitation services, including an underwater treadmill, hydrotherapy, and a dedicated physiotherapy space to support pets through post-operative recovery, chronic pain management, and mobility issues—all under one roof.

We aim to care for every pet and client with compassion, expertise, and at an affordable price. We are transparent with pricing—offering free consultations and fixed-cost hospitalisation and surgery—to build strong, trusting relationships with our clients who appreciate knowing what to expect. Once the hospital opens, our team will be on-site 24/7, enabling free consultations around the clock and making a real difference to our clients and the local community.

Our Team

We bring together experienced clinicians with a passion for small animal medicine. We are actively developing ECC certificates and offer mentoring and teaching opportunities. Our team includes a Head RVN and other RVNs, with regular visits from an orthopaedic surgeon for in-house fracture repairs and cruciate surgeries. We welcome new graduates and look forward to expanding our team with Grace, who is due to join us as a Vet Surgeon later this year. Anna, our Head Nurse, brings extensive clinical experience and recently completed her certificate in feline nursing. We are an accredited nurse training practice with a team of RVNs and an SVN.

We have a history of strong collaboration and a shared ethos, with continued involvement from colleagues who have supported us on this journey.

About the Role

As we open our new hospital, we’re building a dedicated night team and seeking an experienced vet to join us. Whether you have ECC experience or a strong interest in the field and confidence to manage emergency cases, we’d love to hear from you. You will be supported to follow your interests and to manage a varied caseload, including opportunities to pursue certificates if you wish.

The rota is 7 nights on, 14 nights off, from 8 pm to 8 am, with dedicated handover time at the start and end of each shift to ensure case continuity with the day team. We are also open to a weekend-only night role.

Outside of Work

We are a friendly team who enjoy social events and time together outside of work. Activities include casual meetups, dog-friendly outdoor adventures, and our annual Christmas party. As the team grows, we anticipate more social events and lasting memories together. The Staffordshire Moorlands area offers excellent walking and cycling opportunities, views from the Roaches, and nearby leisure activities. Transport links to Manchester, Liverpool, and Birmingham are convenient, and Alton Towers is about 20 minutes away.

We Offer

* A salary of £60,000 to £85,000, depending on experience
* Uncapped CPD budget, with certificates supported and funded
* Professional fees paid for RCVS, VDS & BVA/BSAVA
* Bupa private healthcare

If you want to be part of our exciting adventure and build a rewarding career, we’d love to hear from you. Give us a call for an informal chat, or apply now.
