What You'll Be Doing As a General Operative, you’ll play a key role in the production of fibreglass products Your tasks will vary day-to-day and include: Operating factory machinery and assembly equipment Working with fibreglass, foam, gelcoats, resins, and moulds Laying up glass matting and resin by hand Measuring and cutting insulation and steelwork Setting up and preparing moulds for production Following basic technical drawings for product assembly and fitting Using hand tools and spray equipment with precision Marking, drilling, and assembling components as per design specifications Assisting with goods preparation, loading, and packing Stock movement and inventory checks Supporting the Quality team to ensure all products meet high standards Liaising with the Stores and Planning teams to maintain workflow Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe work environment Reporting faults or safety concerns promptly Participating in general housekeeping and workplace maintenance What We're Looking For Ideally some experience in a factory, warehouse or hands-on role Comfortable using hand tools or machinery (training provided) Good attention to detail and able to follow instructions A positive, reliable, and team-oriented attitude Strong timekeeping and a willingness to learn new skills Forklift licence is a plus (but not required) What We Offer Pay & Hours £12.80 per hour to start, rising to £13.39 after 6 months (performance-based) 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm Weekly pay Holidays & Benefits 22 days annual leave bank holidays Christmas shutdown 5% employer pension contribution Cycle to Work scheme Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) Mental health first aiders on-site Development & Culture Full training and onboarding Opportunities to grow and progress within the business A collaborative, supportive, and friendly team culture Company events and recognition schemes A business that values your contribution and work-life balance About Tricel Tricel is a family-run company founded in 1973.
