This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils who may need additional help managing emotions, behaviour, and engagement in learning. As a Social, Emotional and Mental Health Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA), you will work closely with pupils to provide encouragement, structure, and tailored support within the classroom environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs. Help pupils develop emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies. Build strong and trusting relationships to encourage confidence and engagement. Support teachers in delivering adapted learning activities. Promote a calm, safe, and supportive learning environment. Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff. Essential Requirements of SEMH TA: Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour. Calm, patient, and resilient approach. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain consistent and supportive in challenging situations. Genuine commitment to supporting pupils’ wellbeing and development. An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one. What’s in It for You?
