We are seeking a confident, experienced, and motivated Year 6 Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Dorking, starting ASAP. This is an excellent opportunity for an upper Key Stage 2 teacher who is passionate about preparing pupils for SATs, supporting their transition to secondary school, and ensuring every child leaves primary education with confidence and strong foundations.

As a Year 6 Teacher, you will play a crucial role in pupils' final year of primary education. You will be responsible for delivering engaging, well-structured lessons across the curriculum, preparing pupils for SATs in a supportive and balanced way, and supporting their academic, social, and emotional development. You will also provide pastoral support, helping pupils develop resilience, independence, and readiness for the next stage of their education.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the Year 6 curriculum
* Prepare pupils for SATs using effective, engaging teaching strategies
* Assess, track, and monitor pupil progress accurately and consistently
* Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEN and EAL
* Promote positive behaviour, high expectations, and a growth mindset
* Create a structured, inclusive, and motivating classroom environment
* Work closely with teaching assistants and support staff
* Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding progress and attainment
* Contribute to staff meetings, planning sessions, and school improvement initiatives
* Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
* Hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
* Have recent experience teaching upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6
* Be confident in SATs preparation and assessment frameworks
* Have excellent classroom management and organisational skills
* Be calm, resilient, and supportive in approach
* Be a strong team player with excellent communication skills
* Be committed to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing
