Accountant / Senior Accountant Job Overview
The role of an Accountant/Senior Accountant involves overseeing the complete accounting process, which includes managing fixed assets, inventory, reconciliations, and financial reporting. This position is critical for maintaining compliance with audit and tax regulations. The successful candidate will report directly to the Country and Operations Manager and will play a key role in the monthly financial reporting cycle, which encompasses the preparation and distribution of profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analyses. Additionally, involvement in assurance improvement initiatives and performance variance analysis related to revenue, margins, and expenses is expected.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage the complete set of financial accounts.
2. Oversee fixed asset and inventory management.
3. Execute reconciliations and create detailed financial reports.
4. Prepare monthly financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
5. Support audit and tax compliance efforts.
6. Engage in process improvement initiatives and system automation projects.
Experience and Qualifications:
Candidates should have a degree in accounting or a professional accounting qualification, accompanied by at least 5 years of relevant experience. A CPA from Australia is preferred.
Essential skills include:
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Detailed knowledge of the full accounting closing process.
* Capability to prepare essential financial reports.
* Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software, particularly Navision.
* Excellent organizational skills alongside written and verbal communication abilities.

As an Accountant/Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the full set of accounts, fixed assets, inventory, reconciliations, reporting, budgeting, audit and tax matters. You will report to the Country and Operations Manager and be expected to manage the monthly closing of financial reports, including the preparation and distribution of profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow controls and investment and reports. You will also be involved in assurance improvement activities as well as performance variance analysis on revenue, margins, and expenses. In addition, you will manage the audit and tax compliance matters and support process improvements and system automation projects.
Experience & Qualifications
To be considered for the role, you must have a degree in accounting or a professional accounting qualification with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. CPA Australia is preferred.
You should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for details. Knowledge of the full set of accounts closing and ability to prepare core financial reports is also essential.
You should be a great team player who can fit in a fun and exciting environment. You should be proficient in MS Office and accounting software with an emphasis on knowledge of Navision.
You should be highly organised with excellent written and communication skills.
You should be a self-motivated, resourceful, and fast learner who can balance multiple priorities and meet challenging work demands.
