Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for newly qualified General Practitioners to join Shrewsbury PCN. We are a dynamic, forward-thinking PCN, passionate about developing and delivering excellent quality local services to meet the needs of our patients.
Following recent changes in the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) to introduce General Practitioners, we are looking to expand our team by employing newly qualified GPs (within 2 years and not having had a substantive post). You will work alongside our practices and PCN staff in a supportive role, designed to help you transition into a salaried role in general practice.
You will receive a tailored induction, all training and supervision requirements will be met, and you will be part of an engaged and motivated workforce.
Main duties of the job
1. Perform as an autonomous general practitioner, working independently and with other healthcare professionals to assess, diagnose, and treat patients in a primary care setting.
2. Provide expert professional advice to patients, carers, and colleagues, ensuring the maintenance of clinical excellence.
3. Be professionally accountable for all elements of clinical practice, adhering to the GMC code of conduct, with a focus on patient safety and quality of care.

Person Specification
Experience (Essential)
* Experience in NHS general practices
* Experience using electronic clinical patient records
* Evidence of working autonomously and as part of a team
* Experience undertaking audits in general practice
* Knowledge of current and upcoming NSFs and their impact on primary care
* Understanding of clinical risk management and governance
Qualifications (Essential)
* Full GMC Registration with a license to practice and entry on the GP register
* Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent
* Included on a Medical Performers List or eligible
* Evidence of ongoing professional development
Skills and Abilities (Essential)
* Ability to make independent clinical decisions and seek advice as necessary
* Proven ability to handle a busy, varied caseload and respond flexibly
* Provide evidence-based solutions to problems
* Assess and manage patient risk effectively and safely
