Our client, a reputable organisation within the finance and business services sector, is seeking a motivated Accounting Assistant to join their growing finance team. This role is ideal for someone looking to launch or advance their career in accounting and finance, offering hands-on exposure to core financial operations, reporting, and compliance.
You will support daily transactional finance activities, assist with month-end processes, and work closely with senior finance professionals to ensure accurate financial management across the business. Full training and mentorship are provided, making this a strong pathway toward professional accounting qualifications and long-term progression.
Key Responsibilities
Process invoices, purchase orders, and employee expense claims
Support bank, supplier, and account reconciliations on a regular basis
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
Help prepare financial and management reports for internal teams
Maintain organised and accurate financial records in line with audit standards
Support tax, audit, and compliance activities as required
Assist with month-end journal postings, accruals, and prepayments
Liaise with internal teams and external vendors to resolve finance queries
Skills & Experience Required
Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Competent with Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables desirable)
Familiarity with finance or accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks) is an advantage
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks
Prior office or finance experience beneficial but not essential
