Location: Bedford College – Cauldwell Street Campus
Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £41,086 and £47,971 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, People’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

About the role:
We are currently seeking a Digital Marketing Manager to join our Marketing and Digital department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Digital Marketing Manager, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
1. Digital Strategy & Website Leadership – Lead the development and management of the Group’s websites, championing user experience through insight, testing and data, ensuring accurate course information, regulatory compliance, and effective delivery of web development projects.
2. Content, Search & Email Performance – Oversee creation and optimisation of digital content across web, email and recruitment platforms; drive SEO and paid search strategy; manage ClickDimensions; ensure brand consistency; and report on content performance using analytics tools.
3. Digital Innovation & Continuous Improvement – Identify, evaluate and implement digital innovations such as new platforms, apps and technologies; stay up to date with industry trends; enhance accessibility and UX; and lead ongoing improvements aligned to audience needs.
4. Team Leadership & Cross‑College Collaboration– Manage, motivate and support the Digital Marketing Team, set objectives, handle performance, oversee budgets, foster excellent customer service and work in partnership with internal teams, external agencies and key stakeholders.
5. Group Representation, Events & Compliance – Represent the Directorate at internal/external meetings, support Group events (Open Days, graduations, exams), uphold safeguarding, EDI and H&S requirements, and undertake additional duties as directed.
About you:
6. Qualifications & Professional Development – Degree‑level education in marketing, business or similar; active CIM membership with annual CPD; and ongoing commitment to updating skills and industry knowledge.
7. Digital Strategy, Websites & SEO Expertise – Experience managing large, complex websites and user journeys; strong understanding of SEO, conversion optimisation and digital search strategies; and ability to work within strict brand and identity guidelines.
8. Analytics, Reporting & Technical Skills – Skilled in using digital monitoring, analytics and marketing tools to inform strategy and produce performance reports; strong IT capabilities and exceptional attention to detail.
9. Leadership, Communication & Content Creation – Experience managing or supervising staff, managing budgets, writing compelling digital content, and communicating confidently and diplomatically at all levels.
10. Professional Values, Flexibility & Mobility – Highly organised, able to prioritise multiple workloads, aligned with organisational values (student focus, high performance, respect, openness, honesty), flexible with working hours, and able to travel independently across campuses and events.
