About the Role: Deliver engaging and challenging English lessons across Key Stages 3-5, including GCSE and A-Level English Literature and Language. Develop and implement lesson plans that incorporate a variety of literary genres, texts, and writing styles, encouraging students to develop their analytical, critical, and creative skills. Facilitate student-led discussions, debates, and presentations, encouraging intellectual curiosity, analysis, and communication skills. Assess student progress through written assignments, projects, presentations, and examinations, providing detailed and constructive feedback. Contribute to the development and enhancement of the English curriculum, ensuring it aligns with current literary scholarship and best practices in English education. Organize and lead extracurricular activities, such as literature clubs, creative writing workshops, and participation in debating competitions, to enhance student learning and provide opportunities for students to explore their interests. Ideal Candidate: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong academic background in English Literature, English Language, or a related field. Extensive experience teaching English to GCSE and A-Level, with a focus on both literary and linguistic aspects of the subject. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students. A passion for fostering a love of literature, language, and communication in young women. Knowledge of a wide range of literary genres, texts, and writing styles.
