Maintenance Manager – Mechanical

Lead and co‑ordinate the day‑to‑day activities of the Mechanical maintenance service, so as to deliver a robust, technically strong customer‑responsive service that complies with relevant statutory directives.
In addition to this, monitor and guide the staff within your team, ensuring external contractors complete their tasks and objectives safely and effectively.
Responsibilities
Lead a team to provide a safe patient and staff environment, strong financial management, and statutory compliance across all areas of the service. Support the production and delivery of operational plans and capital projects. Provide line management accountability for associated staff and ensure appropriate financial, workforce and performance management arrangements are in place.
Qualifications and Training
* A Degree or minimum of HND/HNC in a relevant estate discipline or equivalent qualification and demonstrable acquired knowledge and experience.
* Accredited qualification in management or demonstrable experience.
* Proven record of Continuing Professional Development, including specialisation relevant to the operational healthcare estate (e.g., ventilation, MGPS, or electrical engineering).
* Recognised professional qualification or working towards membership of a professional institute recognised by the NHS.
Knowledge and Experience
* Knowledge and understanding of operational estate management across all disciplines and functions.
* Sound knowledge of legislation relating to estates services.
* In‑depth knowledge of maintenance planning and organisation (PPM, reactive, contract, etc.).
* High level of building engineering knowledge, techniques, systems and standards.
* Experience of implementing quality controls, processes and procedures.
* Risk assessment and critical path analysis.
* Responsible/Authorised Person or equivalent for named specialisms such as ventilation, HV/LV, lifts, MGPS and other similar systems.
* Professional knowledge of healthcare estate and technology across a number of specialist subjects including mechanical and electrical disciplines.
* Knowledge of fire safety requirements with building fabric and fire compartmentation.
