Overview
Apprentice Fire & Security Engineer – London Area. Alarm Communications Limited are a leading team of fire protection, commercial security and building management systems specialists, with our Head Office in Surrey. This role covers London and surrounding areas and focuses on assisting in routine maintenance and installation of small works, call-outs and standby on Intruder, CCTV, Access control and Fire Alarms. Apprentices will work alongside a competent Engineer and develop through a 3-year on-the-job and college course.
Responsibilities
* Maintaining fire alarm, access control, CCTV and intruder alarm systems to high standards, representing the engineering face of Marlowe Fire & Security Group
* Carrying out routine services of fire and intruder alarm systems
* Provide detailed information to enable accurate quoting of chargeable works
* Maintain impeccable conduct and deliver the highest standard of customer service
* Keep concise and accurate records of work completed
* Complete your Fire & Security Systems Qualification
Your Qualification and Course
* To become a full-qualified Fire & Security Engineer, you will learn both on the job, whilst studying across a 3-year course
* The educational course operates in block releases, with 1 week per block release
* There will be 14 block releases across the 3-year period where you will attend college during those weeks
* To complete your Level 3 End Point Assessment (EPA), you will be required to pass a theory and practical exam
Requirements

* Qualified to A Level or BTEC. An Electrical qualification or similar would be an advantage but not mandatory
* Exemplary conduct and appearance, with excellent communication skills and a drive to deliver high standards
* Meticulous, thorough approach with attention to detail
* Flexibility, adaptability and reliability
* Self-motivated with the ability to manage workload and coursework, meet deadlines and targets
* Full, manual UK Driver’s Licence; if not held, you must pass within the first 18 months of employment
* GCSEs in Maths and English at grade 4 or above
* This role will require regional travel, including travel in and out of London
