Job summary
The exciting opportunity has arisen for an interim Head of Therapies at County Hospital to provide professional, operational, and clinical leadership, along with strategic planning to a multi-disciplinary team of clinical staff including Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering an integrated Therapy Service across the County site and externally through SLAs, leading the ongoing development and delivery of this service. Sitting within the division of medicine, the candidate will oversee the continuous development and high-quality, patient-focused service within the specialty therapy team. The post holder will work closely with the Divisional Therapy Manager for Medicine.
Main duties of the job
1. To promote and communicate the objectives and benefits of an integrated Therapy Service to the Trust, Strategic, Regional, and National groups/forums/networks.
2. To be responsible for information sharing via meetings, email, and performance reports at Trust, health economy, regional, and national levels.
3. To be flexible and adapt to the changing demands and service needs of the Therapies Directorate.
4. To ensure the Divisional Nurse Director & Divisional Operations Director are kept informed of developments regularly.
5. To ensure systems are in place to empower and engage frontline staff, involving them at all levels to achieve service improvements.
6. Presenting complex, sensitive, or contentious information to large groups of staff.
7. Providing and receiving highly sensitive information requiring persuasive and motivational negotiation skills.
8. To provide expert professional advice to senior physiotherapy and occupational therapy staff.
9. To work as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team, building and maintaining effective relationships within the Trust and the ICS.
