The University of Western Australia (UWA) is seeking a Senior Compliance Advisor to support the development, implementation and oversight of a University-wide compliance framework and system.
* Support the development, implementation and oversight of a University-wide compliance framework and system to ensure the University meets its legal and regulatory obligations.
* Work closely with University stakeholders to investigate and evaluate compliance risks, conduct compliance risk assessments and recommend appropriate solutions to effectively mitigate them.
* Monitor legislative and regulatory changes, assessing their impact on the University and recommending necessary adjustments to policies and procedures to minimise compliance risks.
* Assist in the development and delivery of appropriate training to increase compliance awareness and capabilities across the University.
Responsibilities and Requirements:
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in law, governance, business administration, or a related field.
* Extensive experience in compliance management, preferably within the Australian higher education sector.
* Demonstrated significant experience in establishing, leading and implementing compliance management systems and assurance programs.
* Demonstrated experience in the interpretation of legislation and a good understanding of the Australian legislative and regulatory environment.
* Knowledge and experience in the preparation of policy, procedures, training materials and supporting documentation.
