Job Description
Managerial responsibilities
* Consider planning opportunities for clients within your portfolio and raise particular issues with the senior management team.
* Working alongside seniors, directors, and HR to monitor and implement strategies for growth within the organisation.
* Support junior colleagues with queries relating to technical issues, departmental procedures, HMRC and clients in a manner that is supportive and creates an environment of learning.
* Review elements of work prepared by junior team members. Deal with any matters that arise through supporting the professional development of the team member.
* Ensure effective communication between all departments and contribute to the overall success of the organisation through seeing the bigger picture and a team ethos.
* Be proactive and efficient in the organisation and management of own work whilst ensuring that deadlines and expectations are met within the wider department.
* Contribute to the production of managerial reports as requested.
* Contribute towards the agenda for department meetings, ensuring a team approach is emphasised in all tasks undertaken.
* Take the lead in the induction, training, and development of new members to the team.
Technical responsibilities
* Proactively take responsibility for managing the tax affairs of a portfolio of clients, ensuring that all relevant deadlines and requirements are met whilst ensuring that all administrative matters for clients are dealt with and updated appropriately.
* Manage technical HMRC enquiries regarding client's tax affairs.
* Ensure departmental compliance with all regulations, including Anti Money Laundering and data protection.
* Undertake specialist advisory work projects.
* Assist colleagues with the preparation of personal tax and corporation tax returns, the associated letters and emails for clients.
* Proactively ensure that own knowledge, as well as that of others, remains current in relation to tax legislation, HMRC practices and best practice guidelines
* Plan and deliver training sessions relating to corporation tax to support the development and understanding of those working within the accounts department.

Requirements
* Have a suitable qualification such as CTA or similar technical knowledge through experience.
* Experience in managing a team whilst fostering a culture of inclusion and professional development.
* A solid grounding in tax compliance review and portfolio management together with a desire to expand their technical knowledge and advisory skills.
* The ability to be proactive and efficient in the organisation of own workload, whilst ensuring deadlines and departmental requirement are met.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills to address colleagues, clients, and external agencies.
Salary subject to experience, based on 35 hours per week.

Pay: £32,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
