Job Description:
TeamJobs is looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our client in Watford.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a self-motivated engineer with experience in the aerospace industry. You will be required to design, develop, and test mechanical components, equipment, and machinery. Knowledge of engineering principles to design products such as engines, instruments, controls, robots, and machines is essential, along with familiarity with common concepts, practices, and procedures within the field. Ability to work under supervision is necessary.
The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with some flexibility to work over 4 days.
Pay rate is £35.00-£45.00 per hour (depending on experience).
Responsibilities:
* Focus on REACH obsolescence within the current product range, identifying obsolescence issues, and investigating suitable alternatives based on product specifications.
* Support development of concept designs, including analysis, with awareness of manufacturing methodologies and cost considerations.
* Perform detailed design work and process engineering changes.
* Manage all drawings and associated documentation.
* Work on complex aerospace engineering projects across various areas.
Skills and requirements:
* Attention to detail when reviewing existing drawings for REACH obsolescence and preparing investigation reports.
* Produce detailed designs and layouts to meet customer requirements and specifications.
* Responsible for completing and checking drawing packs and supporting documentation.
* Commitment to meeting project schedules and milestones within a team environment.
* Ability to work flexibly and go beyond your comfort zone.
* Experience with small component design, design for manufacturing principles, and fine tolerance components is desirable.
