Senior Quantity Surveyor
Locations: Chatham, Southampton, Crawley
Contract Duration: 6–12 Months

Overview
Our client is seeking experienced Quantity Surveyors and Senior Quantity Surveyors to support ongoing infrastructure and civils projects across Chatham, Southampton, and Crawley. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor on a contract basis, delivering key commercial functions across multiple live and upcoming schemes.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all commercial and contractual aspects of the project from procurement through to final account.
* Prepare and submit applications for payment, valuations, and cost/value reconciliations.
* Produce accurate monthly cost reports, forecasts, and cashflows.
* Oversee subcontractor procurement, including tendering, negotiation, and contract administration.
* Support or lead on change management — ensuring timely issue of variations, delay and extension of time notices.
* Identify and communicate commercial risks and opportunities to the Project Manager / Commercial Lead.
* Maintain registers for variations, delays, and claims, ensuring contractual compliance.
* Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to maintain strong project relationships.
* Provide commercial and contractual advice to support the site and delivery teams.
Person Specification
Quantity Surveyor (Intermediate Level)
* HNC / Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
* Minimum 1–3 years post-graduate experience within civils or infrastructure projects.
* Working towards RICS / ICES accreditation desirable.
* Good understanding of NEC and/or JCT forms of contract.
Senior Quantity Surveyor
* Minimum 5 years commercial experience (10+ desirable) within civil engineering, utilities, or infrastructure.
* Proven track record managing multiple packages and subcontractor accounts.
* Strong commercial acumen, communication, and negotiation skills.
* Capable of producing high-quality reports and advising on risk and value management.

* Contract: 6–12 months, with potential for extension
* Locations: Chatham, Southampton, Crawley (site-based / hybrid options may be available)
* Rate: Competitive day rate, dependent on experience
