Job summary
The Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a motivated and experienced Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join our Clinical Chemistry Team. This full-time position offers opportunities for multi-discipline experience and professional development. Training and support are provided.
This is a 37.5-hour per week role, including nights and weekends, operating on a 24/7 shift system.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work as a key team member, contributing to high-quality service delivery, mentoring junior staff, and leading laboratory sections in the absence of senior staff. The role involves supporting emergency and routine laboratory services, including work in automated and specialized assay laboratories.

Qualifications
* BMS Degree or equivalent
* HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist
* Specialist portfolio or equivalent
Desirable
* E.C.D.L. or other IT qualifications
Experience
* Relevant NHS laboratory experience
Desirable
* Experience in the specific laboratory discipline
Practical/Intellectual Skills
* Ability to perform complex assays and interpret results
* Competence in IQC and EQA management
* Good interpretive skills
