About the role: The FCC Product Portfolio Director supports the FCC VP of Product’s mission to deliver on the FCC product strategy and strategic priorities by building alignment across the FCC product portfolio and driving sustainable delivery through rigorous cross-functional planning, product success metrics, coordination and collaboration.
Responsibilities:
* Product Strategy, Roadmap Planning and Coordination:Design and maintain artifacts that reflect the FCC Product Strategy and product roadmaps, creating broad clarity and aligning with business priorities and customer needs. Track progress towards Integrated Planning goals and collaborate with product managers and engineering partners to ensure roadmaps are realistic and achievable. Ensure teams coordinate, drive for active and timely issue and risk management. Ensure FCC product team efforts in these areas align with GPA-wide approach and processes and are not duplicative in nature.
* Product Portfolio Alignment:Work with the VP Product and wider cross-functional partners to ensure main products initiatives within the FCC portfolio align with the company’s strategic goals and objectives. Regularly review and adjust product portfolio initiatives to respond to market changes and business needs.
* Annual Planning and End of Support:Lead the planning process for the FCC product portfolio, including budgeting and resource allocation. Work with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and support for annual plans. Support the design, roadmap, and planning of product lifecycle management activities for the FCC product portfolio, including end of support product plans in collaboration with relevant Product Managers and cross-functional teams. Ensure FCC product team efforts in these areas align with GPA-wide approach and processes and are not duplicative in nature.
* Cross-Portfolio Cooperation, Dependency and Critical Path Management:Identify and manage dependencies and redundancies across different product lines to ensure seamless integration and delivery and foster reuse of designs and components. Facilitate communication and collaboration between teams to address and resolve dependency issues. Accelerate and secure designs by fostering cooperation between product managers across product lines.
* Research & Discovery Pipeline:Work with relevant cross-functional teams to align the pipeline of discovery initiatives and new product initiatives to the roadmap plan. Support evaluation and prioritisation of these projects based on alignment with market strategy and strategic objectives.
* Community Nurturing
* Implement Light Governance:Establish and maintain light governance processes to ensure product development aligns with GPA-wide approaches, standards, and team best practices. Monitor and report on governance compliance and effectiveness.
* Investment Case Development:Partner with FCC team leaders to support the development of investment cases for new product initiatives and enhancements. Liaise with the GPA Operations team to engage FCC team’s efforts with Business Services-wide processes and reporting related to capital investments. Ensure FCC product team efforts in these areas align with GPA-wide approach and processes and are not duplicative in nature.
* Change Management:Lead change management efforts related to FCC product portfolio adjustments and new initiatives. Communicate changes effectively to all stakeholders and ensure smooth transitions.
Requirements:
* Planning:Excellent planning skills to develop and maintain product roadmaps, annual plans, and resource allocation.
* Analytical Skills:Have very good analytical abilities to evaluate product performance, market trends, and strategic alignment.
* Market Knowledge:Deep understanding of the competitive landscape and market dynamics.
* Collaboration:Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, program management, and data science teams at all levels.
* Strategic Thinking:Ability to understand the company’s overall strategy and goals and ensure align product initiatives align.
* Project and Program Management:Experience managing multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously, with a focus on delivering strategic outcomes.
* Communication:Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present investment cases, facilitate meetings, and provide executive updates.
* Problem-Solving:High level problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve critical blockers and dependencies within the portfolio.
