Pastoral Support Assistant – SEND & SEMH Focus
Location: South Tyneside
Contract: Full time, long term
Start: ASAP
Pay: £89 to £110 per day (PAYE)
This role is perfect for someone who wants to support pupils beyond the classroom. You’ll work within a pastoral team helping pupils with attendance, wellbeing, regulation and positive routines.
In this role you’ll:
1. Provide wellbeing and emotional support to vulnerable pupils
2. Help pupils settle into classes and rebuild confidence
3. Support attendance routines and transitions
4. Work closely with families, pastoral leads and safeguarding teams
5. Encourage resilience, independence and positive choices
We’re looking for someone who:
6. Has pastoral, mentoring or SEND experience
7. Connects well with pupils who struggle socially or emotionally
8. Brings calm, care and consistency to every day
9. Drives and is happy to travel in the local area

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
