They’re looking for an experienced Specialist Biomedical Scientist (Haematology) to join their growing team and make a real impact.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you’ll be a key player in a busy haematology service, applying your expertise to deliver accurate results and maintain the highest standards. You’ll:
* Perform and interpret blood films, morphology, and coagulation testing.
* Validate Haematology results independently, escalating clinical concerns when needed.
* Lead technical management of haematology equipment, troubleshoot issues, and liaise with engineers.
* Oversee IQC, EQA, calibrations, and method verifications.
* Mentor and support junior staff, including training and competency assessments.
* Maintain SOPs and ensure compliance with UKAS ISO 15189 standards.
* Participate in audits, investigations, and CAPAs.
* Support other lab areas and join the weekend/out-of-hours rota when required.
About You
* BSc in Biomedical Science with HCPC registration.
* Minimum 6 years post-registration experience in Haematology within an accredited lab.
* Strong experience in blood film review, morphology, and coagulation.
* Confident working independently with excellent clinical judgment.
* In-depth knowledge of Haematology, coagulation, and UKAS ISO 15189 standards.
* Excellent organisational, mentoring, and communication skills.
* IT proficient (MS Office, LIMS, QMS).
