What skills and experience we're looking for
* A strong understanding of curriculum design, sequencing and progression, with the ability to secure a coherent, knowledge-rich curriculum
* Expertise in evidence-informed teaching and pedagogy, including how pupils learn and retain knowledge over time
* Proven ability to lead and improve the quality of teaching across a school, reducing variability and securing consistency
* Strong knowledge of effective assessment practice and its role in shaping teaching and improving outcomes
* Ability to analyse and interpret data and monitoring evidence to identify priorities and drive improvement
* Experience of leading whole‑school improvement initiatives that have had a measurable impact on pupil outcomes
* Ability to develop and coach others, building leadership capacity and improving classroom practice
* Strong organisational and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to plan, implement and evaluate effectively
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a senior leadership team
* A clear commitment to inclusion and equity, ensuring all pupils, including those who are disadvantaged or have SEND, achieve highly
