Role Summary

Night Residential Child Care Worker in Residential Services. You may be expected to work at homes across the North Lancashire Region.

Enhanced pay rates apply for night and weekend work, including a 25% uplift for hours worked between 11pm and 8am (subject to a start time before 6am). Weekend work may attract up to 33% additional pay when part of the contractual working week.

Our Children's Residential Service is expanding, and we have exciting opportunities within X due to the opening of a new home in the area.

As a Residential Service, we hold strong views and beliefs that our children deserve the very best care and support. We pride ourselves on developing positive, meaningful, and lifelong relationships with our children. With an emphasis on working creatively, we promote lots of fun activities for our children inside and outside the homes and ensure that our children and young people are supported to develop in all areas of life.

What You’ll Be Doing

We encourage our children to participate and get involved in all decisions, and recruitment is no different. It is really important to us that any worker joining the Residential team has the skills, abilities, and outlook that our children tell us they need from us.

* Listen and engage children in 1:1 work around feelings, emotions, and behaviours.
* Link with other professionals, such as social workers, schools, police, and health workers to ensure our children’s needs are met.
* Work through the night whilst staff are asleep.
* Ensure the home is secure during the night.
* Be a friendly face for children who wake and support them to deal with any issues.

What Our Children Want From You

* someone like me who has time to listen instead of being behind a locked door.
* someone who listens to me but also takes action and who I can have a laugh with – they also need to be able to make nice food.
* someone who spends time with me.

What You Can Expect From Us

We have an ambitious, confident, and motivated management team who are experienced, supportive, and keen to help you learn and grow.

We offer:

* Over 50 free courses and funded qualifications up to degree level.
* A detailed induction programme.
* A monthly 1:1 reflective space with managers.
* A comprehensive Employee Support Offer.
* Opportunities to network with other professionals that support children.
* Wide range of staff benefits including access to our "Blues and Twos Credit" Union, membership of Blue Light Card, and various local retailer discounts.

What We’re Looking For

* Passion: Thinking creatively to support children to achieve their aspirations. We seek practitioners who truly care and want to make a difference.
* Challenge: Dedicated and committed, willing to go the extra mile for children even on tough days.
* Forward Thinking: Join our expanding service and help shape its future.
* Values: Supportive, innovative, respectful, and collaborative – aligned with our service and organisation.
