As our new Drug and Alcohol Project Worker, you will play a vital role in reducing harm to young people across Torbay. You’ll work alongside young people, their families and other professionals in the community to provide advice, make assessments to plan and deliver effective and person centred treatment.
Working to NICE guidance and as part of an experienced team and as a multi agency response, you’ll help young people by providing harm reduction advice and structured psychosocial interventions.
This post meets the requirements for an Enhanced Criminal Record Check. This will show spent and unspent convictions and adult cautions which have not been filtered in line with legislation, plus any information held by local Police that is considered relevant to the role.

Skills
Essential:
* Demonstrate a successful track record of intervention work with children, young people and their families.
* Committed to, and able to demonstrate, relational, restorative and anti-discriminatory practice.
* Have excellent organisational and communication skills.
This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
Knowledge
Essential:
* Knowledge of substance misuse (drugs and alcohol) and awareness of national and local initiatives.
* Knowledge of psychological and physical dependence of substances and the risks substance misuse may post in the short and long-term.
Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
* Experience of delivering interventions to young people.
* Experience of multi-agency working.
