Responsibilities
- Responsible for the financial / commercial management of projects through key Quantity Surveying duties
- Implementing and maintaining standard QS procedures
- Recognising business opportunities and undertaking cost related project / feasibility works
- Responsible for the day to day running of the commercial department and its members
- Develop and implement commercial strategies to achieve company goals
- Lead negotiations with the client, suppliers, and sub-contractors
- Ensure effective cost control measures are in place
- Site meetings with project team / directors as necessary
- Having an excellent understanding of all technical drawings
Requirements
- At least 5 years proven experience as a Commercial Manager or in a similar role
- Industry experience in the construction sector
- Strong understanding of commercial principles and practices
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to analyse data and draw meaningful conclusions
- Producing analytical price build ups and subcontract comparisons
- Sourcing and negotiating terms with subcontractors
- Used to working to deadlines and having an in-depth of materials, feasibility and timescales
- Good time management and prioritising skills are a must
