JOB PURPOSE
Responsible for Gynaecology, Neonatology & Fertility Services (GNF) service resource allocation and the achievement of business performance objectives and quality standards.
To ensure resources are maximised and delivered within budget to meet the Directorates statutory targets and objectives including leading on delivering efficiencies related to community, outpatient and inpatient GNF service activities. This includes Community Neonatal, Gynaecology Triage, outpatient departments, inpatient wards, community outreach clinics.
The delivery of performance standards will be managed via the interpretation of complex data.
Accountable to the General Manager and responsible for provision of operational support to the General Manager in the efficient and effective delivery of financial objectives. Responsible for the operational management of all clinical service management and administrative services and staff across GNF services and the operational management of the clinical nurse management team.
Take a lead role in strategic planning. Lead, manage and direct redesign projects associated with acute and community GNF services (Pan Lothian) as well as regional Services e.g. NNU, Gynaecology Oncology and Fertility Services. Implement pathways of care to support triumvirate and multi-disciplinary working across Womens Services. Negotiate and influence senior management and clinical colleagues through change management process and service redesign.
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, this post may require a different level of criminal records check done than is currently the case. If the post is assessed as a 'regulated role', your appointment will be subject to joining the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme. As from 1/4/26, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro-rata. However, there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
