Occupational Therapist

The closing date is 12 April 2026.

An exciting opportunity to join the developing Community Rehabilitation Team has arisen to enhance the existing OT offer. The successful applicant will work as part of a busy MDT team serving the population of Nottingham City and County, together with senior OTs and OT Assistants you will be working to ascertain and enable individuals occupational functioning to help those who are experiencing complex mental health issues to support the personal recovery and achieve their goals.


Main duties of the job

To effectively plan and implement a high-quality Occupational Therapy service with service users referred to the Community Rehabilitation Team from inpatient settings and other community teams. The post holder will ensure each service user is assessed in relation to their occupational functioning and will work with the individual to identify their plans in relation to their needs to maximise independence in their daily living and occupational performance. Working as part of the multidisciplinary team to use their clinical expertise to participate in the preparation, implementation, and review of plans to aid recovery.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment.

You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.

Job responsibilities

This role requires the individual to assess service users' needs, identify effective OT plans and implement them. In order to do this the post holder will need an understanding of the complex needs and treatment approaches relevant to this patient group. You will need to communicate effectively with a wide range of multidisciplinary colleagues, teams and agencies.

Person Specification


Qualifications

* Degree/diploma in Occupational Therapy
* HCPC registration.


Contractual requirements

Experience

* Experience of working in mental health
* Work experience in community mental health
* Recovery focused practice


Training

* Agreeable to appropriate training for the role
* Occupational Therapy Field work educator


Knowledge

* Assessment and the OT process.

£31,049 to £37,796 a year (pro rata for part time)
