INTERNAL VACANCY
The office of the Lord Mayor of York is one of the oldest in the country and is significant in historical and contemporary importance. The role of the Lord Mayor’s Office Manager is key in the organisation of civic events and the civic diary.
Your role will be to assist in the organisation and delivery of key civic occasions, such as, Mayor Making, Remembrance Sunday and Commonwealth Day as well as organising the Lord Mayors diary to enable visits to traditional occasions and community city events.
You will lead diary meetings, discuss correspondence with the civic party and advise on civic protocols whilst ensuring the civic diary is kept up to date and relevant parties receive information in good time. A large part of the role will be working with external partners and organisations, such as the military, York guilds and twinning organisations, in respect of civic events and occasions. You will also work closely with a wide range of colleagues within CYC.
The role is front facing and you will be expected to be confident in communicating via email, telephone and in meetings.

Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
