Pharmacy Production Senior Assistant Technical Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Senior Assistant Technical Officer to join the Pharmacy Production team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH). You will be working alongside a supportive team of pharmacists, technicians, senior assistant technical officers and scientists in a pharmaceutical cleanroom environment.

The position is permanent. Full time or part time hours will be considered.

The Pharmacy Production department at NUH has four manufacturing areas. The Sterile Production Unit (SPU), Non‑Sterile Manufacturing Unit (NSM) and Pharmacy Packing Unit (PPU) are based at the MHRA licensed facility at the Queens Medical Centre (QMC) campus. The Cytotoxic Chemotherapy Production Unit (Cytolab) is located at the City Hospital Campus. The post holder will be primarily based in the Non‑Sterile Manufacturing Unit.


Main duties of the job

Full training will be provided to support you to assemble and manufacture non‑sterile medicines including solutions, suspensions, creams, ointments and other dosage forms for patients at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH) and for sale and supply to external customers.

Training and Qualifications

* Able to learn new skills Able to undertake the Buttercups Stock Management programme demonstrated through Functional Skills Test in literacy and numeracy (tested as part of the enrolment process) 4 GCSE's at level 3 (grade D) or above in English language, Maths and 2 other subjects or equivalent (or awaiting GSCE exam results


Experience

* Able to work as part of a team Hostpital experience Experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

* Good verbal interpersonal skills Good communication skills Confident Self‑motivated & able to motivate others Good team player


Analytical and Judgement

* Attention to detail Ability to work accurately


Planning and Organisation

* Manage own time effectively Ability to work under pressure


Physical Skills

* Manual dexterity to repeatedly perform detailed technical tasks accurately Sustained periods of concentration Good IT Skills Be able to move weights of up to 20kg

* Willingness to take on new tasks after appropriate training Flexibility to participate in rostered, flexible shift working, including evenings and weekends Must have the ability to wear appropriate PPE required for the role
