Description The Service & Team: You will be part of the Assets, Capital and Commercial Services team within the Customer and Support Services directorate. This dynamic team is dedicated to managing the Council's assets and investments, ensuring they align with the strategic priorities of Cornwall Council. The team works collaboratively across various departments and with external stakeholders to deliver high-quality services and support the Council's governance and investment programmes. You will work closely with the Shareholder Specialist and other senior officers to ensure effective governance and performance reporting. Key Responsibilities of the Role: Implementing shareholder governance around the delivery of Council-owned entity business plans. Providing support for Shareholder/Owner Boards, Partnership Boards, and IPAG, including reporting to CDT and Cabinet. Administering formal and informal meetings, including taking robust minutes and maintaining action logs. Supporting the development of agendas and reporting packs for Board meetings. Ensuring compliance with Council policies on information security, safeguarding, equality and diversity, customer experience, and health and safety. This position will be subject to a basic criminal record disclosure check. Working Pattern: The position is 37 hours a week. Remote working in the majority with a requirement for office working as required. What you’ll need to succeed: Education: Degree level or equivalent professional qualification or experience in similar role. Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to communicate complex issues to senior audiences, and high-level experience with Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience: Significant understanding of financial documents to inform commercial decisions, substantial ability to manage, negotiate, and communicate with various stakeholders, and proven ability to manage complex competing priorities in a high-pressure work environment.
