Job Purpose: To provide a high-quality Occupational Health service delivering professional, evidence-based advice to managers and employees. Responsibilities: The postholder will manage a varied occupational health caseload, undertaking management referrals, sickness absence reviews, fitness-for-work assessments, return-to-work planning and workplace adjustment recommendations. The role supports the Council's commitment to employee wellbeing, attendance management and health promotion. Conduct occupational health assessments via telephone, video consultation and face-to-face appointments. Manage referrals relating to sickness absence, long-term absence, capability and attendance concerns. Assess fitness for work and provide clear, practical recommendations to managers and HR teams. Advise on workplace adjustments in line with equality and disability legislation. Support phased returns to work and rehabilitation programmes. Provide evidence-based reports following occupational health consultations. Essential Requirements: Registered Nurse with current NMC registration. Recognised Occupational Health qualification (Certificate, Diploma, Degree or SCPHN Occupational Health). Significant experience working as an Occupational Health Advisor. Extensive case management experience. Experience producing high-quality occupational health reports. Ability to manage an independent caseload with minimal supervision. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organisational and time-management abilities. Registered Nurse with current NMC registration. Recognised Occupational Health qualification (Certificate, Diploma, Degree or SCPHN Occupational Health). Significant experience working as an Occupational Health Advisor.
