Position: Unspecified role type, Grade P2, Full time 37 hours, Permanent. Start Date: ASAP – ideally before Christmas/early 2026. Site based with potential overnight stays and travel to other Raytheon UK locations.

About the role
Raytheon UK is proud of its Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) performance and continues to develop tools and processes to minimise risks to our employees and environment. The EHS Generalist supports the EHS and Facilities Team, guides management and employees across the business, and builds strong relationships.
Education
* Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate
* Environmental qualification or equivalent
* Chemical background/awareness of chemical management systems preferred
Essential Qualifications
* Knowledge and experience of working within ISO14001 and ISO45001
* Detailed knowledge of UK statutory regulation concerning environment, health and safety
* Working knowledge of general and hazardous waste hierarchy
* Good understanding of COSHH and all associated requirements
* Previous experience in health and safety training and content creation, ensuring audit readiness at all times
* Relevant experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment
* Proficient at report writing and presenting presentations using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
* Project management experience
* High level of initiative and commitment to meeting goals
* Member of a recognised industry professional body (e.g. IOSH, IEMA, IIRSM) or working towards
* Analytical skills
* Current holder of or eligibility to obtain MoD Secret (SC) level security clearance
Desirable Qualifications
* Willingness to enhance existing knowledge and qualifications and obtain an auditing qualification (ISO14001 and ISO45001)
Responsibilities
* Lead projects with the EHS team, prepare and present plans to key stakeholders
* Initiate EHS programmes and change processes
* Develop understanding of the EHS management system in line with legal requirements and corporate standards
* Provide EHS advice and guidance, using escalation techniques when required
* Knowledge of risk assessment and action planning
* Point of contact for compliance to COSHH regulations throughout the UK
* Lead audits, inspections and incident investigations, including physical access to confined spaces and working at height
* Prepare and present at site EHS committee meetings, attend functional EHS Committee meetings
* Chair Sustainability team meetings and drive improvements in line with legislative, ISO standards and corporate requirements
* Ensure documentation is available for legal compliance auditors for environmental and health and safety audits
* Assist with site compliance and compliance task completion
* Participate in continuous improvement activities applying CORE principles
* Keep up to date with EHS requirements
* Report writing on EHS related issues and performance objectives and metrics
* Work to timescales, achieve personal goals and contribute to team effectiveness
