Oweb Daniels are exclusively working with a well-established and highly regarded precision engineering business that specialises in the manufacture of bespoke machinery and complex components. Due to continued growth and investment, they are now looking to recruit a Quality Engineer to support both production and continuous improvement activities across the site.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a background in machined components, assemblies, or special-purpose machinery, and strong experience in inspection and quality systems.
The Role:
As Quality Engineer, you’ll report to the Quality Manager and work closely with Production and Engineering teams to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the manufacturing process. You’ll be involved in day-to-day inspection, root cause analysis, supplier quality, and continuous improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out hands-on inspection of machined parts, fabricated components, and final assemblies
Use a range of inspection tools including micrometers, verniers, gauges, and CMM (if experienced)
Assist in maintaining the company’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System
Investigate internal and external non-conformances, conduct root cause analysis and support corrective actions
Participate in internal and supplier audits
Support APQP, PPAP, FMEA and other quality planning processes where applicable
Work with production and design teams to resolve quality issues during NPI and manufacturing
Analyse quality data and contribute to improvement initiatives across the siteSkills & Experience Required:
Previous experience as a Quality Engineer or Quality Inspector within a precision engineering or machinery manufacturing environment
Confident with mechanical inspection of machined components and assemblies
Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and related quality processes
Familiar with root cause analysis tools (8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa etc.)
Able to read and interpret technical engineering drawings
Good communication and problem-solving skills
