Consultant Psychiatrist, East Grinstead ATS (RRP Payable)
We have an exciting opportunity for a General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist to join our West Sussex Care Delivery Service. The post is based at our Community Assessment and Treatment service (ATS) at Cantelupe House, East Grinstead, West Sussex, as part of the Mid Sussex Neighbourhood Mental Health team (NMHT).
West Sussex Community services are divided into North West Sussex and Coastal Sussex. North West Sussex has three NMHTs in Crawley, Horsham, and Mid Sussex. Each ATS covers a geographical area aligned with GP surgeries to facilitate liaison with Primary Care colleagues. This position is within the ATS in East Grinstead, part of the Mid Sussex NMHT. There are two other consultant posts in Mid Sussex NMHT covering Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill, along with three specialty doctors and three GP trainees.

Main duties of the job
We are a large multidisciplinary community mental health team providing assessments and treatment for patients with complex and unstable mental health and social needs.
Your main duties as a consultant psychiatrist will include:
* Providing specialist psychiatric assessments and evidence-based treatments.
* Offering clinical supervision to trainees and informal advice to non-medical team members.
* Fulfilling responsibilities as Responsible Clinician for patients under Community Treatment Orders, including attending hearings and tribunals.
* Conducting Mental Health Act assessments for team caseload patients.
* Liaising with inpatient Responsible Clinicians, forensic teams, drug and alcohol services, and risk panels as required.

Person Specification
Essential and desirable
* Included on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of eligibility.
* Approved clinician status or ability to achieve within three months.
* Excellent knowledge of the specialty.
* Participation in clinical audits and quality improvement programs.
* Qualification or higher degree in medical education, research, or management.
* In good standing with GMC regarding warnings or conditions.
* Wide range of relevant specialist and sub-specialist experience within NHS or comparable services.

Salary: £105,504 to £139,882 per annum (pro-rata for part-time).
