Planners design our network and work with our Engineers to construct, reinforce, alter and replace our equipment. Together we can bring energy to life using your expertise and the latest technology.Main ResponsibilitiesYou'll be hands-on and customer focused, managing multiple projects at the same time, including the design, costing and quoting of existing and new electricity network assets, you will also:Plan, prepare and deliver new services/alterations/small capital projectsCarry out onsite meetingsWork with wayleaves/estates specialist to obtain 3rd party agreements for NGED assetsFinancially review and close projectsCommunicate with customers effectively to manage expectations and resolve queriesSchedule contracted worksCommunicate with local authorities and external stakeholdersThe Ideal CandidateWe need you to understand our customers and their needs; strong communication skills are key, so you can solve their problem and explain issues simply and clearly. As you'll be in control of your diary, we'll need you to be resilient, organised and able to prioritise your workload. Team players thrive in this role, and experience using iPads and excellent IT skill is a must. You will need to be mobile throughout the area as there is a significant amount of travel involved in this role and you may be required to undertake standby duties, therefore a full UK driving licence is essential.You may not possess all the skills required to carry out the role at present but you will have the confidence and ability to reach the necessary standards with appropriate training. If not already attained you will be required to undertake a Level 2 City & Guilds 2339 qualification and complete TAR, which includes daily diary completion and a number of tasks and reports as required.*Please note you may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are complete.National Grid Electricity Distribution is committed to safeguarding the interests of the Company, colleagues and customers.
