Operations Manager
Willmott Dixon have a great opportunity for a Operations Manager to join the construction North team. The focus will be leading the teams managing projects in the North East. (Ranging in value from £10/£70m).
The main role of an Operations Manager at Willmott Dixon is to lead teams to deliver projects safely, sustainably, on time, within budget and to the highest quality, whilst exceeding customers’ expectations – involvement at all stages of a project, from tender stage through to handover and beyond.
The successful person will have a proven ability to lead more than one project team, and ideally have experience in project delivery in multiple sectors e.g. Education, Leisure, Health, Transport and Residential. A Collaborative approach will be imperative to ensure you develop meaningful and trusted relationships at all levels in order to build high performing and complimentary teams.
What you will be doing
1. Collaborate with our pre-con team in work winning.
2. Plan for successful project delivery.
3. Accountable for the successful delivery of the programme and for ensuring it remains on track.
4. Joint accountability for the successful delivery of the project’s commercial strategy.
5. Lead on design development and accountable for ensuring works are completed according to the Design specifications.
6. Make sure our supply chain partners deliver according to the specifications.
7. Share knowledge and drive best practice.
8. Lead and accountable for quality on projects.
9. Drive a culture of continuous improvement.
10. Accountable for driving the highest standards of safety, health and environmental management (SHE).
11. Accountable for the successful delivery of customer’s sustainability/social value vision.
12. Ensuring teams build long-term, trusted relationships with our supply chain partners.

Essential and Desirable Criteria
Essential Criteria
13. A track record of resolving technical, operational and contractual issues and / or disputes.
14. Controlling costs, timing and quality in line with targets.
15. Reading and accurately interpreting contract documents, programmes, drawings and technical specifications.
16. Managing teams including the supply chain, direct employees and consultants.
17. Minimum relevant level 4 qualification (HNC / NVQ4 etc)
18. Valid driving licence.
