As the dedicated Secondary Recruitment Consultant for Hays Education in Nottingham, I’m working with a local secondary school seeking amitted Behaviour Support Worker to join their team on a full‑time, long‑term basis after half-term.This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to students who need additional guidance, structure and encouragement to succeed in school.
About the RoleIn this long‑term position, you will:
1. Support students with social, emotional and mental health needs and behavioural difficulties
2. Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams and SEN departments
3. Help maintain a positive and safe learning environment
4. Provide 1:1 and small‑group support
5. Implement behaviour strategies and de‑escalation techniques
6. Build strong, trusting relationships with students

What We’re Looking For
7. Experience working with young people with SEMH needs (school, youth work, care, sports coaching etc.)
8. Strong behaviour management andmunication skills
9. A calm, patient and proactive approach
10. Ability to build rapport and motivate students
11. Resilience and confidence when managing challenging situations
(Experience in a school setting is desirable but not essential.)
