The Role To carry out rework (repair and modification) of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) in accordance with company quality standards, IPC specifications, and customer requirements. The Reworker ensures that all assemblies meet functional, visual, and reliability criteria before release to the next stage of production or shipment. Responsibilities 1. Rework and Repair Tasks Perform component replacement, solder joint rework, and circuit modifications on through-hole and surface mount (SMT) assemblies. Use hand soldering tools, hot air stations, and rework equipment safely and effectively. Remove and replace components following correct ESD and thermal handling procedures. Carry out rework based on engineering change notices (ECNs), defect reports, or customer returns (RMA). 2. Inspection and Quality Assurance Visually inspect assemblies to IPC-A-610 and IPC-7711/7721 standards. Verify rework results using microscopes, magnifiers, and test equipment. Record and report defects, repair actions, and results accurately in production documentation or quality systems. 3. Technical Support Work closely with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to identify root causes of defects. Provide feedback on recurring issues to support process improvement and yield enhancement. About you Proven experience in PCBA assembly or rework environment. Proficiency in manual soldering and de-soldering of fine-pitch SMT and through-hole components. Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC-7711/7721 standards (certification desirable). Good hand–eye coordination and attention to detail. Ability to interpret assembly drawings, circuit schematics, and rework instructions. Understanding of ESD control and handling practices. Experience with BGA rework, x-ray inspection, or AOI verification. Familiarity with rework of conformal-coated boards. Basic understanding of electronic testing and diagnostics.
