The Role
As Curriculum Lead – English (Functional Skills), you will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering high-quality English provision. This is a blended role, with 40% dedicated to leadership and 60% to teaching.
Leadership (40%)
Curriculum Development : Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of the Functional Skills English curriculum to meet diverse learner needs.
Team Leadership : Mentor and support a team of dedicated English teachers, fostering a collaborative and innovative teaching culture.
Quality Assurance : Monitor and enhance the quality of provision, ensuring compliance with educational standards and driving continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Engagement : Collaborate with internal and external partners to promote and develop the English curriculum.
Teaching (60%)
Classroom Delivery : Teach GCSE and Functional Skills English using inclusive, engaging, and effective strategies.
Student Support : Provide tailored academic and pastoral support to help students achieve their goals.
Assessment & Feedback : Conduct assessments, deliver constructive feedback, and monitor student progress.
Professional Development : Stay current with best practices and contribute to the development of the English and Maths team.
