Position: Teaching Assistant (Primary) Location: Sandbach, Cheshire Start Date: Monday 13th April 2026 Contract: Full-time, until the end of the Summer term Salary: Dependent on experience and qualifications About the Role A supportive and friendly primary school in Sandbach is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team from Monday 13th April through to the Summer holidays. This full-time role involves working closely with class teachers to support pupils’ learning, development, and wellbeing across the school. Key Responsibilities Support the class teacher in delivering high‑quality learning across the curriculum. Work with individual pupils, small groups, and whole-class settings as directed. Provide targeted support for pupils with additional learning needs or SEND. Help create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment. Assist with preparing resources and materials for daily lessons. Support children’s social, emotional, and behavioural development. Supervise pupils during transitions, playtimes, and other non-classroom activities. Offer support with assessments by observing and recording pupil progress. Uphold safeguarding, health & safety, and behaviour policies at all times. Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and school leaders. Requirements Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) – desirable. Experience working in a primary school setting. Understanding of the national curriculum and effective support strategies. Strong communication, patience, and relationship‑building skills. Ability to take initiative, adapt, and respond to the needs of the class. Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
