Position Overview
The Service Technician is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and technical support. This role is crucial for maintaining customer plant and equipment on-site, covered by our maintenance and service contracts. The goal is to maximize technician productivity, enhance the customer experience, and improve operational processes. Candidates from or near Leicester, Peterborough, or Nottingham are preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Customer and Technical
* Diagnose system problems during service visits and projects.
* Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), customer breakdowns, warranty work, hire, and commissioning tasks at customer sites.
* Build and maintain strong customer relationships, acting as a trusted contact.
* Collaborate with Service Desk, Sales, and Operations teams to share customer insights.
* Use software, diagnostic tools, and hand-tools to diagnose and repair units, following blueprints or specifications.
* Generate reports on completed work orders.
* Foster strong customer relationships through excellent service.
* Communicate updates with supervisors, regional managers, senior technicians, and customers to drive improvements.
Internal Controls and Administration
* Proven experience as a service or field technician.
* Strong knowledge of customer service principles.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to motivate technicians.
* Analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency with diagnostic software, apps, and MS Office.
Skills and Capabilities
* Knowledge of the manufacturing industry is advantageous.
* Strong communication skills and a positive attitude.
* Ability to work independently.
* Relevant certifications, including F-Gas.
* Willingness to cover standby and call-outs, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
* Valid UK driver’s license; right to work in the UK.
