This is an excellent opportunity for an energetic and passionate Substance Misuse Nurse to help shape our vision in how we provide clinical services to individuals affected by drugs and alcohol. The Substance Misuse Nurse role is varied; the successful candidate will be an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, offering specialist clinical interventions to service users.

Location and Hours
Stourbridge - Change Grow Live Dudley Atlantic Recovery Community Services
Part Time Hours: 22.5 per week (3 days)
Full Time Salary: £37,184.90 - £43,384.61 (pro rata for part-time)
Contract: Fixed term until 30th September 2026
Responsibilities
* Undertake physical and mental health assessments, ensuring appropriate signposting/referral to primary or secondary health care services.
* Provide education, health promotion, and screening for blood-borne viruses (BBV). Provide Hepatitis B vaccinations as needed.
* Contribute to CGL's Naloxone Strategy by training staff and service users in Naloxone use and ensuring it is distributed appropriately.
* Develop therapeutic alliances with people with substance use problems and build effective partnerships.
* Review procedures regularly to promote best practice in line with UK Guidelines, NICE guidance, and CGL protocols.
* Provide harm reduction advice, including information and equipment for injecting drug users, and ensure safe disposal of equipment.
* Record and input client data to meet contractual, administrative, and financial requirements.
Qualifications and Skills
* First level registered nurse with recent relevant post-qualification experience and a current PIN.
* Experience working within drug and alcohol treatment (desirable but not essential).
* Knowledge of harm reduction and health promotion interventions.
* Ability to assess and develop recovery plans and write reports.
* Clinical auditing skills for service evaluation and development.
* Professional, empathetic, and non-judgmental attitude towards service users and stakeholders.
* Understanding of professional integrity and confidentiality.
