Opportunities have arisen for Health Care Support Workers to join our inpatient teams in New Craigs Hospital. We are a 98 bedded mental health hospital providing inpatient mental health care to people within the Highlands; located in the City of Inverness.
There are posts currently available across many of our inpatient settings:
IPCU – 10 bedded intensive psychiatric care unit.
Older Adult Acute – 12 bedded assessment ward for over 65’s requiring mental health assessment and treatment.
Adult Acute Admissions – 22 bedded assessment ward for 18-65 year old’s requiring mental health assessment and treatment and 2 inpatient detox beds.
Dementia Care – 24 bedded assessment ward for people of any age with a dementia diagnosis
High Dependency Rehabilitation – 8 bedded high dependency rehabilitation ward for adults with complex care needs.
LD ATU – 6 bedded assessment and treatment unit for people with learning disabilities who are experiencing an acute episode of mental ill-health.
Whichever inpatient area you apply for, you would be working as part of a highly motivated and encouraging team, who adopt a person centred approach to care, always aiming for a positive patient experience of admission.
The successful candidates will be caring and compassionate, motivated and with good communication skills, and able to demonstrate a commitment towards the continued development of patient focused care whilst fostering a therapeutic ward environment. The successful candidates will be provided with all necessary statutory and mandatory training required for this role.
Previous experience in a care setting is desirable as this is a busy and physically demanding post. We require someone who is able to cope with these demands, who can work well within a team and has a calm and friendly nature. Full and part-time hours will be considered.
