Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Activity Coordinator to join our team in providing engaging and meaningful activities for residents in our assisted living and nursing home facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in senior care, including dementia and Alzheimer's care, and a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our residents through creative programming and social interaction.
Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and oversee a variety of recreational and therapeutic activities tailored to the interests and needs of residents.
* Foster a warm and welcoming environment that encourages participation from all residents.
* Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure activities are suitable for residents with varying levels of physical and cognitive abilities.
* Maintain accurate records of resident participation and feedback to continually improve programming.
* Coordinate special events, outings, and celebrations that promote community engagement.
* Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote upcoming activities and gather input on future programming.
* Assist in training volunteers or junior staff members in activity facilitation techniques.
Skills
* Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or similar senior care settings is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of dementia care practices and techniques for engaging individuals with Alzheimer's disease.
* Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
* Ability to create a variety of engaging activities that cater to diverse interests and abilities.
* Compassionate caregiving skills that demonstrate empathy towards the elderly population.

This role is currently for two hours per day, five days a week. There may be opportunities for an increase in hours in the futur
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From £12.21 per hour
Expected hours: 10 per week
