Bradford Children and Families Trust is seeking an Experienced, Innovative, and Dedicated Practice Supervisor to support and lead our Care Leavers Team. This is a meaningful opportunity to help drive services forward and ensure our commitment to improving the lives of young people leaving care becomes a reality.
Our Care Leavers Team supports young people as they transition into adulthood, helping them build independence, resilience, and stability. We are looking for a Practice Supervisor who is passionate about ensuring every young person receives high‑quality, consistent support that genuinely makes a difference.
About the Role
As a Practice Supervisor, you will play a key leadership role in supporting Personal Advisors and Social Workers working with care-experienced young people (typically aged 16–25). You will promote high‑quality practice, oversee complex cases, and ensure that young people’s voices and needs remain at the forefront of all decision making.
You will work within a relational and restorative culture, encouraging continuous learning, reflective practice, and professional development across your team.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide reflective supervision, guidance, and professional oversight to staff supporting care leavers
* Ensure statutory responsibilities under the Children (Leaving Care) Act and related legislation are met
* Promote independence planning, pathway planning, and high‑quality relationship‑based practice
* Oversee complex situations involving risk, transitions, accommodation, education, employment, and wellbeing
* Champion a restorative, supportive, and learning‑focused team culture
* Work closely with internal and external partners to secure the best outcomes for care‑experienced young people
* Lead by example in delivering exceptional practice and maintaining high standards of service
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
* A qualified Social Worker with substantial post‑qualifying experience
* Skilled in supporting and developing staff to deliver excellent outcomes
* Experienced in complex case management, including transitions and legal processes
* Passionate about improving the lives of care‑experienced young people
* Confident, relational, and committed to restorative practice
* Able to inspire, motivate, and guide a dedicated team
* Driven by high standards, continuous improvement, and child‑centred decision making
You will approach challenges with enthusiasm and determination, maintaining a strong focus on helping young people thrive and succeed.
