IT Manager (Contract / Locum – 3–6 Months) Newport / Remote
TSR Legal are working with a leading regional law firm in South Wales who are looking to appoint an experienced IT Manager on a contract or locum basis for 3–6 months. There is flexibility around the arrangement for the right candidate. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced IT professional to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the firm’s IT systems, legal technology platforms and external technology suppliers, ensuring systems run efficiently, securely and in line with regulatory requirements.
The Role
The successful candidate will oversee the firm’s IT operations and act as the primary internal liaison with the external IT support provider. You will ensure that technology supports the firm’s operational needs while identifying opportunities to enhance processes through improved systems and legal technology.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing the firm’s IT infrastructure, systems and legal technology platforms
* Acting as the main point of contact for the external IT support provider
* Ensuring systems operate securely and in compliance with regulatory requirements
* Supporting the implementation and improvement of legal technology solutions
* Managing relationships with software suppliers and technology vendors
* Identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency through technology
* Overseeing IT security, compliance and data governance initiatives
About You
We are keen to hear from candidates who are:
* Experienced in IT administration or IT management, ideally within a legal or professional services environment
* Comfortable managing legal technology systems and third‑party suppliers
* Knowledgeable in IT security, compliance and data governance
* Highly organised with strong problem‑solving and project management skills
* Able to work collaboratively with stakeholders across the business
Desirable Experience
* Experience with legal practice management systems
* Familiarity with Cyber Essentials or similar security frameworks
* Experience implementing legal technology or automation tools
* Vendor and technology contract management experience
