About the Role - Deputy Manager EBD Children's Residential Home

?? Salary: £35,000 £38,000 (dependant on experience)
?? Shift Pattern: 2 on / 4 off (including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays)
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and experienced Deputy Manager to join our childrens residential home in Chester. You will play a key role in supporting the Registered Manager to ensure the highest quality of care is delivered, creating a safe, nurturing, and positive environment for young people with emotional, behavioural, and social difficulties.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home in line with Ofsted requirements.
* Lead, motivate, and develop a team of residential support staff, ensuring high standards of care and professionalism.
* Take responsibility for the home in the absence of the Registered Manager.
* Ensure compliance with safeguarding, care planning, and health & safety policies.
* Support and guide staff in managing challenging behaviours using therapeutic and child-centred approaches.
* Contribute to the recruitment, supervision, and appraisal of staff.
* Complete administrative duties including rota management, audits, and record-keeping.
* Work in partnership with external professionals, families, and stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for young people.
Requirements
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) Essential.
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (Residential Childcare) Desirable (or willingness to work towards).
* Previous supervisory or deputy experience in a childrens residential setting.
* Strong understanding of safeguarding, Ofsted regulations, and childrens legislation.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
* Ability to manage rotas, staffing levels, and resources effectively.
* A full UK driving licence Essential.
* Enhanced DBS check required.
