Job Summary
East Dunbartonshire Leisure & Culture Trust Community Sports team are looking to recruit coaches to work within their Community Sports programme. You will be required to work across various Leisure Centres, schools and other venues throughout East Dunbartonshire as part of a strong, established team. In addition to our annual 40 week programme we have holiday camps across Easter, Summer and October school holiday time.
In order to apply for these positions applicants would require the following minimum qualifications;
Football – Level 1.3 Children’s Coaching Award or 1.3 Youth/Adult Coaching Award
Gymnastics – UKCC Level 2
Multi Sports (we require coaches in Basketball, Netball, Tennis, Athletics, Badminton, Squash) UKCC Level 2 or equivalent
Our classes run across 6 days of the week Monday – Saturday from 9:00am – 7:00pm midweek and 8:30 – 1:30pm on Saturdays
As part of the role coaches will be required to;
*Plan and prepare quality coaching sessions based on the age and stage of the group they are coaching
*Work both independently and as part of a team
*Be able to communicate effectively with parents/carers
*Be able to communicate effectively with primary school staff
*Attend regular staff training/in service days across the year

PVG / Disclosure Scotland
The following criteria applies to all roles within East Dunbartonshire Council where PVG/Disclosure checks are essential criteria
Where the post you are applying for is considered a Regulated Role under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act, successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment being made by East Dunbartonshire Council.
Please note, successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant check which will be deducted from the successful candidate’s first salary payment.
In specific circumstances the payment could be deducted in instalments from an employee’s wages following commencement of employment. Approval in such circumstances will be made by the HR &OD Manager.
Should an employee leave in advance of the payment being deducted, the full amount will be deducted from the employee’s final salary.
The criteria outlined above will apply to existing employees of East Dunbartonshire Council who apply for roles for which a PVG/Disclosure check is required.
