Job description
Our client, a leader in network communications, is currently recruiting for experienced Communications Cabling Engineers to work on a contract basis at Heathrow Airport, London. This role supports the delivery of structured cabling and installation of communications assets in a secure environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Installation, termination, and testing of structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, and fibre)
2. Installing containment systems including trunking, tray, basket, and conduit
3. Installing CCTV, VSS, Access Control, and Intruder detection systems
4. Conducting testing and certification using Fluke (DSX or similar)
5. Maintaining clear documentation of all installations and testing
6. Collaborating with site supervisors, project managers, and client teams
Job Requirements:
7. Proven experience in structured cabling within commercial or highly regulated environments
8. Strong knowledge of copper and fibre cabling standards and installation practices
9. ECS or CSCS card required
10. Eligible to undergo full airside security vetting
11. Experience in CCTV, PAVA, Access Control, and Intruder detection systems
Desirable:
12. Previous experience working in airports or similarly highly regulated environments
13. Valid IPAF, PASMA, or confined space certifications
14. City & Guilds or BTEC in Telecommunications/Data Cabling/Electrical Installation
